I have several questions about ranking system and challenges.
Firstly, is it right that "challenge" matches are not used in ranking system? Also, when ranked matches are played and how does it select players (randomly, with the same rating, something else)? Could I use "challenge" and select my side (1st, 2nd player and so on)? Could I use not current bot version for challenges?
Sorry, if answers to these questions are obvious but I didn't find them.

Thanks for your questions, I'll answer them.
Challenge matches are used in the ranking system, so you will get points for them. However, because we use an ELO based point system, players who challenge more shouldn't get an unfair amount of extra point.
Normal ranked matches are played building a queue that matches all 10 opponents above and all 10 opponents below your current rank once.
You cannot select your side at the moment when you challenge some bot.
You can only use your current bot version when challenging someone, but you can change your current version of course and then change it back.

Suggestion: Because in some games the advantage of being the first to move is big (Four in a Row, Warlight, Ultimate-Tic-Tac-Toe), I suggest that in those cases, a challenge is a challenge with both sides.
