I wanted to ask if the maps are always just one big continent without sea... ? Isn't that kind of boring ?

Here are some examples for different types of maps:

Personally I would like to see some larger maps, as well as some which are static as in created or selected by a human. ( If that is not already the case through seeds or the like. )

I like the current variation in the maps, but I would like even more variation in: - size: even bigger maps, with max. 100-150 regions (smaller maps are not desirable) - maps with less connections between the regions, for example a map like the one in the first warlight challenge - maps with small and big superregions, also like the one in the first warlight challenge

Thanks for your input, I was always planning on changing the settings of the mapgenerator based on what the response was from you guys. I'll keep your ideas in mind.

What about mirrored maps? Something like this where bots would pick regions only in their own half. This could prevent strong imbalances as we see them now in some games. Maybe it would also cause a lot of stalemates, I don't know. Or let them pick one after another on each side.

I like the maps. Since they are relatively open the better the bots get the more intense fights we will see. With the old challenge the better the bots got the more stacking 'action' you saw. Only the amount of wastelands is pretty much at the maximum at present and a little less wastelands wouldn't hurt. When humans play a +10 wasteland makes it a 'wasted' bonus that usually never comes into play besides for the purpose of crosssing it.
