It would be really nice to have the possibility to utilize boost on the server too. It would also allow me to clean up the C++ starter bot a fair bit. Is anything like this currently planned?

I'll see what I can do in the next week

I don't think we will be adding support for this, at least not for now. Boost will give c++ an unfair advantage over other programming languages because it supports such high level functions.

How about not adding the complete boost library but a subset of libraries which deal with low-level programming techniques and not with high-level applications. For example things like makeuniqueptr, noncopyable, mpl, array, assert, assign, scopeExit, chrono, container... cover features that other languages dont have a need for or are builtins in virtually any other high level language.
There are even quite some features other languages do have which c++ lacks, like chrono staff, lexical cast, regexes which only come with boost.
Also I would advocate for including all external-dependency-free, reasonably small header-only libraries because noone can hinder people from including them into their code anyway, it just unnecessarily causes traffic and pushes up the size of the zip files.
For example in C++ you just can't join or split strings, which is quite bad for parsing engine strings :D
